Cross for Mars Proficiency, 40th–49th award

The Cross for Marching Proficiency was established in 1909 to recognise those who had completed the four-day marches. The Cross for Marching Proficiency is also known as the Four-Day Cross.

A white enamelled shield bearing the numbers 40 to 49, surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, indicates the 40th to 49th conferrals.

The Cross for Mars Proficiency is still awarded today and is listed in the order of precedence for honours established by the Minister of the Interior.
